I recently joined the Glad Cafe’s writers group. Since studying I’ve had a fear of creative writing (and other styles) , believing that I wasn’t very good at it.
Joining the group has given me the push I needed to write and read in public. Thanks to all for the useful critique and good feedback on the piece below, inspired by an image of central station in New York.
Swarms of commuters tussled for clear pathways clipping him as they b-lined for the station exit. Like every blockage, they treated him with disdain.
He thumbed the glass screen of his phone one last time, holding out for a significant flash.
Nothing.
It was time to say goodbye.
